The Key Load-bearing Piece of the World's Largest Double-acting Horizontal Aluminum Extrusion Press Successfully Cast
Recently, at the production site of China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), seven huge ladles advanced steadily. With the sound of whistles, the ladles were positioned, and the valves opened simultaneously. A "river of fire" surged out, and 776 tons of molten steel were poured into the cavity of the super-large steel casting. Thus, the key load-bearing component of the world's largest double-acting horizontal aluminum extrusion press—the front beam steel casting—was successfully cast.
This extrusion press is the largest tonnage horizontal aluminum extrusion press in the world. The project was launched in December 2024. To ensure the high-quality and efficient progress of the project, CHMC has adhered to the implementation of the whole-process linkage working mechanism and the dual inspection and confirmation mechanism. It has carried out lean design, refined the process flow, optimized the technical plan, and strengthened the control of the entire process to comprehensively promote the project implementation.
